During the same time frame, police responded to reports of a violent home invasion at an apartment complex with a history of criminal activity. An unidentified man and woman, believed to be Venezuelan immigrants, were allegedly assaulted, pistol-whipped, and stabbed by suspected gang members. The victims were moved between apartments on the property. Fourteen individuals present at the scene were detained for questioning as police work to determine which, if any, are connected to the assault. The investigation involves cooperation with federal agencies, including ICE, and remains active as detectives sort out the suspects’ involvement.
