At one college send off they had fireworks, wine and cheese, and a candle lighting ceremony to celebrate their kids beginning their college journey. Yes, it can be a scary time for moms, but it’s also an exciting time for kids. College is a time for your kids to build their own community and be independent. Sure, there will be times when you don’t know where your kids are at, or what time they’ll be back at the dorm. But that’s when you need to trust that what you’ve done has been a foundation for them to make good choices.
