A dying king sends his three sons to find the Water of Life. The older sons are rude to a dwarf and fail, but the youngest is kind and receives help. He obtains the water and saves three kingdoms using gifts from the dwarf. His jealous brothers steal the water, replace it with seawater, and claim credit. The youngest son is ordered to be killed but is spared by a kind hunter. Eventually, the king realizes his mistake when rewards from the three kingdoms arrive. The princess he saved sets a test only he can pass and they live happily ever after. His brothers flee and are never seen again.
